Amateur Night at the Ritz

First Friday of the Month
Come see local singers, musicians, actors, poets, rappers, comedians and other talent perform on stage on the first Friday of each month. Like the Apollo's show in Harlem, contestants compete for cash prizes and the cheers or jeers of the audience decide who goes home with the cash (jeers not allowed for child contestants). Tickets are $5.50/person. Purchase tickets from Ritz Theatre or from Ticketmaster at the above link. Note: Purchase tickets in advance as tickets usually sell out.

Clean Comedy Night

The Clean Comedy Show is performed every Friday night at 7pm. Appropriate for ages 9 and up. Tickets are $45 for dinner and the show, or $25 for show only. Doors open and dinner served at 5:30pm, and show begins at 7pm.

Ice Skating at Jacksonville Ice

Skate at Jacksonville's only ice skating facility. Jacksonville Ice holds public ice skating sessions weekly. Hours are Monday thru Friday 11am to 1pm; Tuesdays 7:30pm to 9:30pm (no charge for rentals); Fridays 7:30pm to 12midnight; Saturdays 2pm to 4pm and 8pm to 10pm (DJ Night); and Sundays 2pm to 4pm. Jacksonville Youth Ice Hockey

6:15pm

Ages 3-17. Open to boys and girls. Offered year-round. Classes meet Fridays at 6:15pm, in 1 hour sessions. New sessions start every 8-10 weeks, but new registrations are welcome at any time. Drop-Ins are welcome; the drop in fee is $20. Skaters must have a hockey helmet with cage, hockey gloves, elbow and knee pads, and a hockey stick. Also, basic skating knowledge is required. Parenting Group Classes

1pm to 2:30pm

Free parenting classes will be offered in two locations this spring. Some of the topics will include discipline techniques, use of praise and communication skills. One class will be offered on Friday afternoons, April 10 through June 12, 1pm – 2:30pm, at the Walter E. Harris Community Center (old Hastings Elementary School) in Hastings. A second class will be offered Wednesday evenings, March 18 through May 20, 5:30pm to 7pm, in the Family Integrity Program Conference Room at the Health and Human Services complex, located at 1955 US 1 South in St. Augustine.
